FIRST LEGO League Junior expos take place in the spring at OMSI, Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, and in Hood River or The Dalles. An expo will last no more than 4 hours. Volunteers will interact with small teams of kindergarten through 3rd grade students.
- Expo Reviewer – Interview FIRST LEGO League Junior teams; learn about their ideas, examine their LEGO model, and talk to them about how they have become a better team. Identify the team’s strengths to determine the reconginition they receive during the awards ceremony (must be a teen or older).
- Expo Helper – Assist in checking in teams, managing the flow of the event and people, helping with event security, or other roles that are needed based on the size of the event and the venue.
- Coach/Mentor – Work with a team for 10 weeks to help them progress through the year’s challenge and present their ideas at an expo. Coaches must be 18 or older. Mentors assist coaches, serve as rolle models for the team members and may be teens.
