Meet our Staff
“Prior to joining ORTOP, I held many positions working and supporting youth as a school district employee, community volunteer, crisis counselor and robotics coach across all FIRST programs. I am passionate about using STEM to build relationships in an inclusive, welcoming community for everyone. My goal is to bring project based learning to all Oregon students and aid in their self discovery to see themselves as the next leaders in science and technology.”
“My background was originally very technical which involved developing computer software. Over time I moved into teaching computer science and software engineering which lead to administrative roles regarding STEM education policy and programs. I’ve been involved with FIRST programs in Oregon since 2001 including as a member of ORTOP’s board. As ORTOP’s volunteer executive director, I enjoy helping ORTOP serve more students of all backgrounds throughout Oregon.”
“I am a writer, nonprofit professional, and educator dedicated to supporting mission-driven organizations across Oregon. As a recipient of the Oregon Literary Fellowship, I blend my storytelling skills with my nonprofit experience to develop projects that align with both my interests and the needs of the community. I am also an advocate for alternative pedagogy, including inquiry-based and project-based learning.”
