How Are We Relevant to Our Community?
Each year thousands of students, teachers, schools, families, and communities in Oregon are touched by ORTOP’s non-profit work. We take this responsibility seriously as we plan more than 80 events statewide, directly impacting more than 6,000 students and their teams through funding stipends, robotics training, volunteer screening, and tournament competitions. Whether we offer coaches formal guidance, STEM teachers STEM professional development training, or volunteers the robotics knowledge to run a tournament, we are dedicated to sustaining these results community by community, county by county — as we cross our 20th Anniversary milestone in 2021.
Empowered by an active Board of Directors and talented staff, we strive to execute extensive work plans across four FIRST Lego League programs. We know first hand the value of balancing time, funding, and support for those that are in the most disadvantaged situations as well as inspire leadership from those with sustained experience and resources as they share and model their best practices —each participant refining better ways to participate, collaborate, and grow.
Through our inspiring and challenging annual themes each year, we engage the hearts and minds in K-12 grades who will become our future work force. We appreciate and value our stakeholders support over a continuum of STEM workforce skill building and look for new partners join us to ignite more robotics innovators at an early age and learn the core values like Gracious Professionalism and Co-opertition” that last through a lifetime of vocational opportunities.
Our annual report is a way that we report these results and celebrate the partners and stakeholders who make things happen each year. Please enjoy these pages. As ORTOP heads toward it’s 20th Anniversary milestone in 2021 we look forward to continued collaboration and results!
