FIRST® LEGO® League Overview
FIRST LEGO League® is a science, technology, engineering, and math program for a team of 3 to 10 members in 4th-8th grades. The competitive season begins in late August when the new scientific theme is revealed. Students showcase their work at Oregon qualifying tournament competitions in December, followed by two championship tournaments in January. FIRST LEGO League challenges teams to solve a real-world problem with their own innovative solution and to design, build, and program a LEGO robot to manipulate LEGO models based on real world challenges. Team members do all of the work guided by their adult coaches and mentors, while using FIRST Core Values. The 2018-2019 challenge is INTO ORBITSM
Teams are self-forming and must be registered with FIRST by October 9th to participate in the current season.
