2025 Pre-Season Events in Oregon

Two pre-season events were held in October give FRC team members, including rookies and young women, the chance to experience the thrill – and the nitty gritty fundamentals – of robotics competition. Hosted by FRC Team 1425 at Wilsonville High School, these exciting, fun, and low-stake competitive events are designed for girls, new team members, and anyone wanting to try on a new team role.

Location: Wilsonville HS, 6800 SW Wilsonville Rd

It’s the girls’ chance to step into the driver’s seat and show off their leadership and expertise at the annual Girls Gen competition. Using last year’s game, robots, and field, FRC teams will send their female and non-binary members to fill all the central competition roles for the day, gaining experience and confidence in competition roles.

Not enough eligible team members to take the field at Girls Gen? You can invite people from other teams to join you temporarily. And, while girls take center stage for this event, boys from your team will be allowed to fill in roles as needed. Contact ORTOP for help or more information.

Registration fee: $100

FIRST Chance is your opportunity to dive head-first into FRC competition using last year’s game, robots, and field.

FIRST Chance is designed to give new and experienced team members the opportunity to enjoy the thrill of competition in new roles as they bring the robot to the field. The goal is to have students new to FRC fill as many key roles as possible on the field and in the pits, including drive team, alliance selection, and problem solving on the fly. Experienced team members can also fill in competition roles that are new to them.

Registration fee: $250
