The Loch Ness Codeathon is a month-long online coding challenge open to middle schoolers (grades 6-8) with no prior programming experience. This is a great starting point to learn coding with block-based programs in a supportive environment. Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes for themselves and their schools by creating a project of their own choosing in one of three categories: games, animation, and hardware.
They strongly encourage students who are female-identifying, low-income, and/or from other underrepresented backgrounds to participate.
Kickoff event – 2-3:30 PM PST Sunday, February 28th
Weekly project groups – 2-3:30 PM PST Sunday 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 3/28
