FIRST® Robotics is the world’s top student-serving nonprofit organization delivering science, technology, engineering, and math inspiration to 600,000+ students around the world in grades K-12. And volunteers are the key to it all.
As a FIRST volunteer, you become part of a global community supporting youth in developing their skills and building the future. Your number one job is to understand that FIRST Robotics is always about more than robots. You can help students build skills that go beyond technical skills, including communication, collaboration, and time management.

Working side by side with FIRST participants, volunteers play an important role in shaping students’ minds and inspiring them to achieve. Whatever role you choose, your top responsibilities will include:
- Celebrating all students and how much they have learned
- Making events FUN for students
- Helping events run smoothly
- Igniting students’ curiosity and interest
- Having fun engaging students
Even if you have only a few hours to give, your contribution makes a difference. No special skill, experience or expertise is needed. Whatever you bring to your role, when you share your knowledge and experience with students, you’ll get to see them use it to enhance their own skills.
